Is schefflera toxic to rabbits?

A sourced answer from House Rabbit Society and RWAF guidance. If your bunny has chewed this plant, call your exotic vet right away.

Schefflera (umbrella plant)

Best avoided

Every part holds insoluble calcium oxalate crystals, tiny needles that jab and burn the mouth and throat the instant a rabbit bites in. It brings on drooling, pawing at the mouth, and a rabbit that suddenly stops eating; in bad cases the throat can swell enough to make breathing hard.

How much: Never feed. Keep this very common houseplant out of any room your rabbit roams.
