Is lilies toxic to rabbits?

A sourced answer from House Rabbit Society and RWAF guidance. If your bunny has chewed this plant, call your exotic vet right away.

Lilies (true lilies, tiger lily)

Best avoided

True lilies (the genus Lilium, including tiger and Easter lilies) are listed as poisonous to rabbits. The famous deadly kidney poisoning is really a cat problem and has not been shown in rabbits, but a rabbit that eats lily still gets gut irritation, and because rabbits cannot be sick it can stop eating and slide into gut stasis. These are different plants from the lily-of-the-valley and peace lily already on this list.

How much: Never feed. A very common cut flower; keep arrangements out of reach.
